Be awesome
It's Dreamwidth day! And new Supernatural day! In honor of this, I'm actually attempting to use the crossposter.
-I had a Chuck marathon on Monday night and watched the last six eps of the season. Big giant sparkly hearts! I'm crossing my fingers and toes and hoping it gets renewed.
Actually, even if I didn't love the show, I'd be interested to see what the upshot of the Subway campaign is. On the one hand, it does seem like a much more sensible approach than trying to annoy a network into renewing your show by mailing them all kinds of stuff. And it's actually feasible for fans to buy sandwiches to support something; you can *eat* the sandwich, at least, and it's hardly the commitment of buying a car or a computer. On the other hand, there's something a tiny bit alarming about seeing direct advertising jump not only into tv shows but into fans' lives, blogs and journals. So, is this something we'll see more of in the future? Is this something we'll want to see more of in the future? Time will tell!
-I forgot to post about last week's SPN; the title made me a bit nervous (XF flashbacks), but it turned out to be a pretty good episode. Or rather, it turned out to be a pretty gory episode, but it had some interesting character moments and has sparked some good discussions. John's choices make a reasonable amount of sense to me - assuming he knew about Mary (and Sam) by the time he found out Adam existed, he'd have no reason to think that Adam and his mother would be in the same kind of danger. With Mary gone for 20 years, Sam having stormed off to college, and Dean starting to hunt on his own, I can see why playing house with a 'normal' family from time to time would be so tempting. And at the same time, why Dean is so hurt when he finds out. Big Brother Sam was equal parts cute and terrifying.
Based just on the promo, I am really looking forward to tonight. *flails a bit*
