How LEGO advertises toys for girls in 2010

(I saw the first ad on Gizmodo, I think, a few months ago - it's adorable.)

Elsewhere on the internet, you can vote to make Barbie a computer engineer.

how much do I love the vintage ad? awww.

the othe rjust makes me really sad :( I was buying Playmobil off eBay a while back and was flabbergasted to find a "for girls" ghetto section. Dude...Playmobil??? That's like Lego -- it's freaking gender neutral by design! ..or so I had thought :(((

Sigh. You know, this is one reason I like Little Tikes, which is where I get a lot of Frog's bigger ticket items. They DO have the dreaded Pink Versions of things, but stuff in strong, neutral colors is marketed to both boys and girls, and things like kitchens have boys in the pictures.
